Meet the Balanced Life K9 Training Crew!
Our mission is to help YOU live a better life with your dog!
We strive to teach dog owners how to effectively communicate and work with their canine companions to help alleviate the stress and problems so many families are struggling with when trying to train and live happy lives with their pups. What sets us apart is our open minded-ness in exploring all avenues of training to find the BEST way for you to get results! We have personal experience, having struggled in the past with our own family companions, that helps us truly understand and relate to what you are going through. We know how frustrating it is trying to get results that seem hopelessly out of reach. Our main focus is helping families with their pets! We want to see more people able to enjoy doing things with and spending time with their dogs instead of dreading simple activities like going for a walk, having friends/family over and getting their dog to follow basic commands around distractions. |

Our Canine Assistants
Pepper:
The oldest of the group!
His nickname is "Border Collie".
He is a typical Border Collie in almost every way. He is high energy (even in his older age at 11+) and always looking to help out with training. He enjoys working hard and loves being given a job to do! He is not a fan of sitting still or being left out of any activities or adventures. He will play fetch with ANYTHING - bottle, rock, stick, ball you name it!
Lucky:
The cute little grey one!
His nickname is "Staffy".
He is one of our original behavior modification cases who came to us with almost every problem behavior in the book (dog issues, people issues, resource guarding, prey drive, handling issues, etc). He has made amazing progress living a structured lifestyle with us for many years and now offers help to other pups who come to us for training with socialization and distractions. He loves snuggling with his people, being covered with blankets, playing fetch, food and chewing stuff!
Sheena:
Her nickname is "Badass Brindle".
The crazy striped one.
She is a combination of couch potato and crazy athlete. She is always ready to snuggle up and sleep in or to jump around like a fool and play games or do some training! She was a troubled rescue pup who we fostered and trained after being sent back for problem after problem that ended up staying with us permanently and has been a joyful addition to the family ever since.
She LOVES eating, sniffing around, dock diving, playing fetch and always wants the corner seat on the couch!
Ryoko:
Her nickname is "The Dragon Lab".
The youngest member the team.
She loves FOOD, is always up for an adventure and any fun activities. She is learning to be a helper dog with lots of training and practice, so she can assist other clients dogs in the future like the rest of our family pups.

Our Feline Assistants
Cali:
Our senior kitty!
She pretty much hides from the new arrivals until they are behaving calmly and under control. She LOVES being pet from head to toe (even having her belly rubbed). Even though she is bigger than our other cat, she has a tiny squeaky voice that sounds like a toy or a kitten when she meows. She has an addiction to taking naps and sleeping throughout the day in our personal dogs empty crates!
Kerrigan:
The younger, well known Dog Training Cat!
She is a confident, but skilled reader of dog body language and always knows which trainee's are safe to taunt and which to avoid and keep distance from. She enjoys playing with anything on the floor, batting it around with her paws and getting into mischief. She loves sun bathing and trying to sneak outside to explore the great outdoors when she gets the opportunity.
